The end of summer is nearing, but the change of seasons also means our favorite TV shows are returning — as well as some new, brand-new ones worth checking out.

Dancing with the Stars

Season 34 premieres September 16, 2025 (ABC)

Dancing with the Stars celebrates its 20th anniversary in the ballroom with a brand-new cast of celebrity contestants, each paired with a professional dancer to compete for the coveted Mirrorball Trophy.

So far, only two stars have been announced: social media personality Alix Earle and Robert Irwin — conservationist, son of the late “Crocodile Hunter” Steve Irwin and brother of season 21 champion Bindi Irwin.

Season 4 premieres September 17, 2025 (Apple TV)

Though the characters are fictional, it’s hard not to draw parallels to real-life morning news personalities — especially true in season 1, when viewers were introduced to Alex Levy (Jennifer Aniston) and Mitch Kessler (Steve Carell), co-hosts of The Morning Show on the UBA network. When Mitch was fired amid a sexual misconduct scandal, Bradley Jackson (Reese Witherspoon) stepped in as Alex’s new co-host.

Season 3 ended with Alex standing by Bradley, who turned herself in to the FBI to face felony charges for covering up a crime committed by her brother, Hal. It’s tough to picture Bradley returning to the anchor desk after her actions, but both Witherspoon and Aniston will be back for season 4.

The Golden Bachelor

In Season 1, Golden Bachelor Gerry marries his final pick, Theresa — though the couple soon divorced. (Golden Bachelorette Joan and her pick, Chock, are still together!) What keeps viewers coming back to The Golden Bachelor isn’t just the hope of romance, but the joy of watching older women connect, share candid conversations and lots of laughs.

This season's male lead is Mel Owens, a 66-year-old former NFL player turned lawyer. While I’ll be rooting for his romantic journey, I’m equally invested in watching the wonderful platonic friendships that bloom alongside the love stories.

Hotel Costiera

Season 1 premieres September 24, 2025 (Amazon Prime)

Fans of The White Lotus’s second season in Sicily will likely appreciate the stunning scenery in this new six-part action drama, filmed along Italy’s picturesque coast.

Jesse Williams (Grey’s Anatomy) stars as Daniel “DD” De Luca, a half-Italian former U.S. marine turned fixer whose latest assignment takes him to a luxury hotel in Positano. There, Daniel, who grew up in Italy, is tasked with finding Alice, one of the hotel owner's daughters, who disappeared a month earlier. But the closer he gets to the truth, the more he uncovers dangerous secrets hidden behind the hotel’s glamorous façade.

High Potential

DANIEL SUNJATA, KAITLIN OLSON

Season 2 premieres September 16, 2025 (ABC)

If you’ve ever listened to a true crime podcast and thought, "I bet I could solve that," you’ll relate to the heroine of this hit ABC drama. Kaitlin Olson stars as Morgan Gillory, a gifted single mom of three with a genius-level IQ.

Originally a cleaning woman, Morgan’s knack for observation caught the attention of the Los Angeles Police Department, which recognized her natural gift and hired her as a consultant in the Major Crimes division.

High Potential was the network's most-watched new series in seven years. If you missed the first season, it’s streaming now on Hulu and Disney+, giving you plenty of time to catch up.

Chad Powers

Season 1 premieres September 30, 2025 (Hulu)

Former New York Giants quarterback Eli Manning probably didn’t expect that a comedy skit from his 2022 ESPN+ docuseries, Eli's Places, would spark a full-fledged scripted series. In the original skit, Manning disguised himself as “Chad Powers” to secretly take part in Penn State’s walk-on tryouts.

This new 10-episode Hulu comedy reimagines that premise. Glen Powell stars as Russ Holliday, a disgraced college quarterback who still wants to make it in the big league. To get back in the game, he goes undercover as “Chad Powers” and joins a struggling Southern football team, hoping the ruse will lead him back to glory.

Elsbeth

Season 3 premieres October 12, 2025

Carrie Preston originated the role of quirky lawyer Elsbeth Tascioni on the CBS drama The Good Wife and reprised the role in the sequel The Good Fight.

Last year, her character got her own spinoff series, with Preston still in the role.

Although (spoiler alert) season 2 ended with Elsbeth's arrest for harassment and her subsequent imprisonment, I’m betting she will be released. Alongside a stellar regular cast, the show is also known for some high-profile cameos, including Nathan Lane, Retta and Matthew Broderick.

Nobody Wants This

Season 2 premieres October 23, 2025 (Netflix)

The return of Adam Brody (yes, Seth Cohen from The O.C.) to the small screen was enough to draw me to give season 1 of this romantic comedy a try. Brody plays Noah, a sweet and sensitive rabbi who has just broken up with his girlfriend. Joanne (played by the equally endearing Kristen Bell), a podcaster, shares the mishaps of her love life with her audience. The two meet, and the chemistry is instant — but it’s complicated because Joanne isn't Jewish.

In an interview with Deadline, series creator Erin Foster explained that season 1 focused on the classic "will they or won't they?" question. In season 2, it shifts to "how will they?" as Noah and Joanne try to merge their lives and navigate their differences. And for a fun bit of casting, the show is introducing a new character, Abby — Joanne's middle school nemesis —played by Leighton Meester, Brody's wife, in real life.
